Dear POLS Community,
I'm Eda Naz Gezer, a 3rd year Political Science and Public Administration student, minoring in IR. Over the past three years, I have observed that one of the biggest challenges in our department is the lack of guidance, leaving many students feeling lost—especially in their early undergraduate years. This is why I am running for Department Representative.
Another key reason for my candidacy is the lack of female representation in our department’s leadership. I want to challenge this long-standing imbalance and contribute to building a more inclusive and diverse academic community.
If elected, my main priority will be to establish a mentorship program for 1st year students, pairing them with volunteer juniors and seniors to provide academic and social guidance. This will not only help new students navigate university life but also strengthen our department’s sense of community, which is often overlooked.
Additionally, I plan to expand the successful initiatives of our previous representative, Bora—such as the Townhall Meetings, which create a platform for students and professors to discuss academic concerns. I will ensure these meetings are held each semester and that they become an even more effective space for student engagement.
Beyond these initiatives, my door will always be open for your ideas, criticisms, and suggestions—whether about our department or university life in general.
Your voice matters, and I am committed to making it heard.

My Dear Classmates,
I am Cevdet Cem Kılınç, a 3rd-year POLS student and I am running for this position to strengthen our department and create a better experience for all POLS students.
Throughout my years at Bilkent, I have been actively involved in numerous student clubs, gaining hands-on experience in student representation and leadership. Last year, I was honored to be elected as the Representative of All Student Clubs, working closely with the Student Activities Center and Dean of Students. These experiences have given me a deep understanding of how Bilkent operates and how we can bring about meaningful change.
My main goal is to enhance the POLS department. Currently, I manage our department’s social media accounts and website, striving to boost its reputation and solve the daily challenges we face as POLS students.
I aim to tackle key issues such as the lack of adequate study spaces in the T building and infrastructure problems in the toilets. My plan includes installing sockets in study areas facing the walls, renewing the seating, and ensuring proper hot water flow in the facilities.
Furthermore, I want to strengthen the bond between POLS students and our alumni by organizing mentorship programs and networking events that help us develop our careers.
With my experience as the representative of all student clubs and my strong commitment to developing our department, I am confident that we can achieve great things together.
Let’s build a stronger POLS community!
