Hello everyone,

I’m Ege Aksoy, a Electrical and Electronics Engineering student in his 3rd year, and I am running for department representative in the student council. As we all know, we are in an extremely demanding and challenging program. While our university provides us with a strong academic foundation, our social lives and overall well-being can sometimes take a backseat in the process.

I am one of you. When I chose this department, my goal was to become a great engineer. However, between lectures, projects, and intense lab schedules, we often find ourselves sacrificing our social lives.

At this point, I believe that a student-focused change is necessary, and I am running to make that change happen. I will work to make lab sessions more efficient and manageable. I will fight for a system that is less stressful and more supportive of students.

Of course, some of us aim to become academics or researchers, and their development is just as important. That’s why I will advocate for offering advanced courses as electives. At the same time, I will push for a more inclusive and fair grading system, because low GPAs do not always reflect a student’s true potential. We all deserve an evaluation system that provides equal opportunities for success.

In short, I will be the voice of the students. I count on your support!
